Principal in vivo pharmacology scientist

Do you have solid experience within in vivo pharmacology, and are you looking for a job with major responsibilities, impact and exciting scientific challenges? Then our job as Principal Scientist is just right for you. In the department of In Vivo Biology and Safety, your primary role will be to enable progression of our drug discovery projects by generating the right in vivo pharmacology data. In addition, you will contribute with your broad drug discovery insight and strategic mindset, both when we progress our drug discovery projects and when we set the future directions for the In Vivo Biology and Safety department.


Drive in vivo pharmacology and biology in cross-functional project teams

The major focus of this position will be to evaluate the in vivo effect of novel therapeutic agents for inflammatory skin diseases. Your primary tasks will be:

  • Define and plan the in vivo pharmacology deliverables for drug discovery projects
  • Design, monitor, interpret and communicate data from in vivo pharmacology studies, conducted either at LEO Pharma or by external CROs, in compliance with 3R principles
  • Develop new in vivo models
  • Collaborate with other scientists, technicians and students and provide guidance to their work with projects and models
  • Evaluate potential in-licensing opportunities

In addition, you will take on leadership roles in our discovery projects, and you will be viewed as an expert resource in pharmacology by members within and outside the department.


Your qualifications:

  • Excellent scientist with a PhD in life sciences
  • Ten years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent, with solid understanding of the drug discovery and development processes
  • Extensive experience with in vivo pharmacology, PK/PD, and translational aspects
  • Expert knowledge within immunology and inflammatory diseases
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and engage in timely and thoughtful decision making, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must thrive in a dynamic working environment where key values are knowledge sharing and teamwork

It will be considered an advantage if you have worked with both therapeutic antibodies/biologics and small molecule drugs.


In Vivo Biology and Safety, your new department

We are a department with 23 highly skilled scientists and technicians and several students. The department performs in vivo efficacy testing and early safety assessment of drug candidates within the dermatology area, and we support the entire value chain with histology. Our work is characterized by innovation, scientific rigor and patient centricity, and we are known for our open and informal working atmosphere.
