Medical Doctor to early clinical development

Take your career in drug develop to the next level

If you are interested in early stage drug development and skin disease this job could be a great opportunity for you. LEO Pharma has set out to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. A vital part for our success is to continuously explore new opportunities to expand our pipeline combined with building unparalleled understanding of our patients and skin diseases. And that is why we need you!

As part of a highly skilled and dedicated team of MD’s and scientists in Translational Medicine you will contribute to take us to a new level of disease and patient understanding. You will get the opportunity to unfold your clinical and research experience, learn and develop your skills within drug development and make a positive difference for people with skin diseases all over the world.

Deliver medical and scientific input in various cross functional project teams

Your overall objective is to contribute to the development of new drugs and treatments for people with skin diseases. You will support the organisation with medical input shaping early stage development of our project pipeline and explorative trials establishing new indications. You will unfold your skills in various project teams in a role as their Medical Expert. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Act as medical lead for Translational Medicine for disease indication development programmes
  • Support clinical trials in early clinical development (Clinical Proof of Concept plans and clinical trials ranging from First in Human to Proof of Concept phase 2a trials)
  • Analyse, interpret and report on data from clinical trials and literature

Medical expertise and drug development experience

You are a medical doctor with some clinical experience and interest in early stage clinical development.  Industry experience with early stage clinical trials and business development is an advantage as is clinical experience in dermatology and research. However, the most important qualification is an interest in developing your understanding of drug development, disease understanding and the pharmaceutical industry.

Part of working at LEO is also to understand that you are part of a business where commercial concerns are part of everyday life. LEO is growing and you must thrive and be able to succeed in an environment with change and periods of uncertainty with project priorities.

If you bring a PhD or doctoral thesis within a related area it is a benefit but no a prerequisite for applying. The same goes for experience within clinical trial planning, interactions with regulatory health authorities, or business development activities.

On the personal level you are known for your overview and attention to details as well as your dedication for reaching ambitious goals and following timelines. As you will create results as part of project teams you must be a genuine team player and communicate effectively with people without a medical background.

Your new team

You will join a well-functioning team of 12 motivated and highly skilled colleagues all working in cross-functional teams. We are responsible for the early clinical development pipeline programmes up to clinical Proof of Concept (phase 2a) including exploratory clinical research activities involving development of biomarkers, imaging techniques; patient reported outcome measures, and pharmacokinetics.
