Two part-time Student Assistant positions available in Explorative Biology

Do you want to be a part of the bioinformatics team at LEO Pharma? Then join us as a Student Assistant in the department of Explorative Biology.

We are looking for talented, motivated,  and systematic individuals who can help us organize many kinds of high-throughput data for our analyses as well as help with establishment of data visualization tools . 

The job

The job as Scientific Data Administrator/Visualisation Assistant  will involve both manual data preparation and “true” bioinformatics coding and analyses. You will work closely with the bioinformaticians in the department where your main tasks will be:

  • Preparing, standardizing and QC’ing expression data from external and internal sources
  • Annotating scientific data
  • Maintaining our code base
  • Implementing a distributed data infrastructure
  • Developing small web-based tools to present data to non-bioinformaticians

Your profile

We are looking for master students with at least one year left of your  studies, and an excellent understanding  of English and scientific literature.  The ideal candidates will have:

  • bioinformatics know-how
  • skills and interest in R programming
  • a profound love for data

It will be an advantage but not a requirement if:

  • you have experience with public databases like GEO or ArrayExpress
  • you have worked with microarray and NGS data
  • the bash shell environment on a linux server does not scare you.
